The resource territory hexes have number disks (from 1-12) on them and a player generates that resource if they have buildings on the corners of the hexes and the corresponding number, is rolled!
- In a players turn:
- They roll the dice, everyone who is eligible collects resource cards based on the roll, unless a 7 is rolled (in which case the current player moves the Robber to a hex of his choice, which blocks all resource generation until the Robber gets moved again)
- They may trade cards at a port (if they have one) and/or trade resource cards with other players and then/or,
- They may spend resource cards for improvements
- Points scoring is contributed by building settlements and cities, building the longest consecutive road, commanding the largest army, or certain development cards that award points (held in secret). The first player to 10 points is the winner.
