Lanterns: The Harvest Festival is a tile placement game set in imperial China. Players act as artisans decorating the palace lake with floating lanterns. The artisan who earns the most honor before the festival starts wins the game.
On a turn, a player may perform each of these actions once per turn in this order:
- Exchange a Lantern Card (Player switching one of their cards for another card from the supply)
- Make a Dedication (Players expending a set of lantern cards to get a token which will be used to score points later)
- Place a Lake Tile Ttriggers the distribution of lantern cards and bonuses to players based on certain rules and also depending on the Lake Tiles various colour arrangements)
Exchanging After all Lake tiles are drawn, players perform one final turn before scoring. The player who earns the most honor wins the game.
